Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
When a visitor enters a name or case number into a search tool, the entry is sent to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the query and returns its result. Decatur County Court Docket does not store or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email or other message sent to the operator is retained so a response can be made. The message stays within the operator's team and is not shared outside that organization unless a legal duty requires disclosure.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, ordinary technical details about the visit may be recorded by the servers or services that support the resource:
- The IP address assigned to the visitor's device
- The browser and version in use
- Device type and operating system
- Pages viewed and time spent on them
- The referring website, when one is provided
- Time and date markers for page views
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies may be used to understand how people move through the pages, such as which resources draw visits or where use tends to stop. Analytics services aggregate that traffic information. A browser can block cookies. Some page functions may work differently after that setting is changed.
What We Do With This Data
Technical and tool-related data is used for the ordinary work of operating and measuring the resource:
- Keep the resource available and improve page load speed
- Pass a visitor's search request to the selected partner service
- See which information is useful and which pages need revision
- Find and correct technical faults
- Display advertising that may reflect a visitor's interests
No Court-Record Data on File
Decatur County Court Docket does not host, maintain, compile, or sell a database of Decatur County court dockets or personal case-record information. It provides general directions to the Clerk of Superior Court, the trial courts, lower courts, municipal offices, and the official case-search system. Georgia court records stay with the court or clerk that holds them.
The Georgia Open Records Act does not make courts subject to the same agency-record request process. Access to a docket or court document follows the responsible court, clerk, court rules, and statutes. Uniform Superior Court Rule 21 addresses public access and restrictions, while Rule 36.17 addresses protected identifiers. Visitor information collected here is not assembled into consumer reports or a third-party court-record database.
Third-Party Search Partners
Search boxes displayed on these pages are supplied by outside companies. Information entered into one of those tools is handled under the partner's privacy policy rather than this policy. The partner controls its own retention and sharing practices, and Decatur County Court Docket does not control those practices. Review the partner's terms and privacy notice before submitting information.
Links to Other Websites
Pages may link to the Decatur Clerk, Georgia Courts, South Georgia Judicial Circuit, city offices, state agencies, legal-aid resources, and outside search tools. Following one of those links takes a visitor away from this resource. The destination's privacy policy then governs the visit, so read it before providing personal information.
Advertising partners may also track activity across different sites to select or measure ads. That activity occurs on the partners' systems, not on the systems described by this policy.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Some information may be available to:
- Search partners that process queries sent through their tools
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and performance
- Advertising networks that place ads on the pages
- Law-enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires disclosure
How We Protect Your Data
Standard security practices are used to protect information collected through the resource. No internet-connected service is completely secure, however. Reasonable steps are taken to safeguard data, but a breach can never be ruled out entirely.
Users Under 18
The resource is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a minor has provided information, the operator will delete it after receiving notice through the available contact route.
Your Data Rights
Depending on where a visitor lives, applicable privacy or consumer-protection law may provide additional rights over personal data. The Georgia Open Records Act is an agency-records law and does not create a court-record access route; courts are handled through their own clerk and rule procedures. At a minimum, a visitor may:
- Ask what personal information is held about the visitor
- Request correction of information that is wrong
- Ask that personal data be deleted
- Opt out of certain forms of data processing
Updates to This Policy
This privacy policy may be revised as practices change. An updated version will appear here with a new effective date. Reviewing the policy from time to time shows which practices apply to a later visit.
Effective date: August 21, 2026
